La Mozza

La Mozza is a Tuscan joint venture between Joe and Lydia Bastianich and Mario Batali. The winery was founded in 2001 and is located in the Maremma area of Southwestern Tuscany facing the Mediterranean sea. Without the restrictions of other Tuscan appellations like Chianti, Vino Nobile, and Brunello, the La Mozza wines are able to express themselves freely using both Mediterranean coastal varietals like Ciliegiolo, Alicante, Syrah, and Carignan along with more traditional Tuscan varietals like Sangiovese and Colorino.
