Trilussa is a regional company servicing California directly along with distributors in key west coast markets. It is imperative to create a direct link between the producer and the customer. Often in the three-tier system, wine distribution is dominated by bureaucracy and producer involvement is limited. Trilussa was created to act as “the eyes of the producer” with a commitment to education, service, and fulfilling the individual needs of each customer.

The producers have been carefully selected to create a family of dynamic, high-quality, small-production Estates. Some of the producers are being reintroduced to the market while others are completely new to the American market. The overall company vision is to create a portfolio with a limited number of producers in order to work with focus and without competing brands. The Trilussa producers have all decided to embrace a system of regional US importers providing more attention to their wines rather than one national importer with many different volume priorities.

Founder: Stefano Biscotto
I was born in Rome, Italy and have traveled between Rome and San Francisco all of my life. I developed my passion for food and wine through my travels. In Rome our family escape was Montalcino, Tuscany and in San Francisco I often ventured to Napa and Sonoma. What started as a hobby became my life when I went to work for Villa Italia and then Young’s Market Company as the Italian Wine Director. 

After 10 years with Young’s Market, I decided to pursue my ultimate goal and start my own company, and I launched Trilussa Wine Company in April 2007. The timing of this venture seemed perfect for me considering the complexity of the marketplace with consolidation on the supplier/distributor side and the desire to work more directly with smaller, focused companies on the retail/restaurant side and the growing consumer demand for new Italian wine discoveries. For Now, the Trilussa wine portfolio is exclusively Italian, but the possibility of expanding the portfolio in other countries is very likely.
